The Slow Drip Acclimation System is a tool to easily acclimate your new shrimp or other aquatic pets to their new home. By using a simple siphon and a valve to control the speed of the acclimation, you're able to set it and return later to move the livestock into their new aquarium.
The 7-Piece set contains:
-5' Tubing
-1' Tubing
- Bell Prefilter with sponge to prevent fish, snails, shrimp, etc from clogging the tubing
-U-Bracket that easily hangs on rimless or rimmed tanks up to a 55gal/40 breeder. If a larger U-Bracket is needed, please message us and we will find a solution (ie it does not fit around the rim of a 75/90 gallon aquarium)
-Clamp with screw to mount to the bucket, cup, aquarium etc where the acclimation will take place. Do not overtighten as this is just to prevent the tubing from coming out and making a mess
-Tee Valve to fine tune the drip rate
-Syringe is used to start the siphon so that way you don't accidentally ingest any aquarium water starting the flow
The recommended drip rate for tank raised Neocaridina and Caridina is: 3 Drips per second until the total volume in the lower container is 3-4 times the original amount. The original amount is the volume of water that was transferred from the shipping bag with livestock into the container. Once the desired amount of water has been transferred, it is recommended to use a net to scoop out the livestock and place in their new home. As always, it is also recommended to use a net that is assigned to only one aquarium, to prevent disease and cross contamination.
When finished acclimating, hang the U-Bracket high enough that the tubing is vertical, open the Tee Valve completely to allow the water to drain.
